The Swimming Hall of Turin It was inaugurated in spring 2011. The structure is part of a wide area dedicated to sport, in the renovated setting of Piazza d'Armi: in front of the the Olympic Stadium.
The building gives an adequate space where practicing water polo and swimming at a high level was designed by Arata Isozaki.
The new Swimming Hall of Turin is characterized by advanced solutions, and the choice to break with the classical style of swimming indoors hall using large external glass surfaces instead of a wall.
The building has a roof with an overhang of 16 m north, with steel and structural glass facade. The realization of this structure was made possible by the use of Isolpack Ampex, the revolutionary structural system of coverage for spans up to 12 meters. Thanks to its lightweight durable profiling, Ampex result the best solution and highly pleasing aesthetic result.
